Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the cyan gone while the other colors still show toner left?
Cyan does quiet, heavy work in everyday printing: skies and water in photos, charts and graphs, company logos, and every green or blue shade on the page are built largely from cyan. A color rarely used on its own can still be the first to empty. The printer meters each color separately, so uneven levels are normal, not a fault.
How many pages will I honestly get from this cartridge?
It is rated at up to 2,300 pages, measured at light, standard page coverage. Full-page photos or dense graphics use far more toner per sheet and will bring the real number down substantially. On this compact platform the color cartridges are small, so anyone printing color daily should expect to swap cyan more often than they would on a larger machine.
What does cyan cost me per page?
At $61.64 for up to 2,300 pages, about 2.68 cents per page — and we will not dress that up as cheap. Compact desktop color printers trade low machine prices for small, costlier cartridges; that is the platform's design, whichever brand of cartridge you buy. Where a compatible cartridge helps is the purchase price for the same rated yield.
Is this the right cartridge for my printer?
This 407540 cyan serves the Ricoh SP C250DN and SP C252DN platform as a whole. The listing names the SP C250DN, but the cartridge is the standard cyan for the family, including the SP C252DN.
Can I change only the cyan, or do all colors go together?
Only the cyan. Each color is an independent cartridge, so you replace the one that is empty and leave the others until their turn comes. Swapping takes a couple of minutes with the front cover open, and the printer is ready again as soon as the new cartridge seats.
What happens if this cartridge prints badly?
It is covered by a one-year warranty, and you can return it free within a year — the terms are set out on our shipping and returns page. Streaks, leaks, or output that is clearly off are grounds for a replacement or refund; our support team is on hand Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central.
