Frequently Asked Questions

How many months will a 10,000-page black cartridge last our workgroup?

It depends entirely on your monthly volume. At about 1,000 black pages a month, one cartridge stretches to roughly ten months; at 2,500 a month, plan on closer to four. The 10,000-page figure is rated at around 5% page coverage, so form-heavy or graphics-heavy output will land below it — treat the rating as a budgeting guide rather than a guarantee.

What does a black page actually cost with this cartridge?

At $50.35 for a rated 10,000 pages, the cartridge works out to about 0.50 cents per black page. That is the toner cost alone, before paper, and for everyday letters, invoices and reports it keeps the per-page running cost of this machine low and predictable.

Does copying from the glass use this same black cartridge?

Yes — a copy is printed output, so copies draw from this cartridge just like prints do. Scanning to email or to a network folder uses no toner at all, which is why offices that scan heavily often find their cartridge lasting noticeably longer than the page rating suggests.

Our machine is a C2050, not the C2030 in the listing name — will this cartridge work?

It will. This black cartridge is built for the whole platform family — Ricoh Aficio MP C2030, MP C2050 and MP C2530 — and the C2030 name in the listing is simply the model this particular page is filed under. If your machine belongs to that platform and takes the 841280 black cartridge, this is the right one regardless of which of the model names is on your front panel.

The toner-low message just appeared. Should we stop and swap cartridges now?

No need. The message is an early warning, and there is normally a good amount of printing left after it first shows. Use it as your reorder signal instead: place the order when the warning appears, keep printing until the output visibly fades, then change the cartridge. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, so the replacement typically arrives within a few business days.

What protection do we get if the cartridge leaks or prints poorly?

This cartridge is covered by a one-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year if anything is wrong with it. If you see leaking, streaking or faded output tied to the cartridge, contact us through our shipping and returns page and we will replace it or refund you. Support is available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.
