Frequently Asked Questions

When does replacing all four cartridges in one session actually make sense?

When two or more colors are already low, when you have taken over a machine with unknown toner history, or when a big color job is coming and downtime mid-run would cost more than the cartridges. Swapping all four in one ten-minute session resets the whole color system at once, instead of interrupting work three separate times over the next month.

What does the set save against buying the four cartridges separately?

The four singles total $233.86; this set is $178.39, so you keep $55.47. That is a real saving on cartridges you would eventually buy anyway — the honest condition is volume: if your office prints color only a few times a year, buy singles as they empty instead of tying money up in a set.

The black is rated 10,000 pages and the colors 5,500 — won't they fall out of sync?

They will, and that is normal for this platform. Black does the text, copying and faxing, while each color only serves color pages, so expect roughly two color cycles across one black cartridge's life in a mixed office. The set is a full refresh, not a promise that all four will empty on the same day.

Do I have to install all four cartridges the day the set arrives?

No. Install the ones the machine actually needs and keep the rest sealed on the shelf — sealed cartridges store well in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Many offices install the colors now, hold the black as the shelf spare, and lose nothing by waiting.

Is this set the right one for my machine?

The set bundles the platform's four standard cartridges — black 841280 plus cyan, magenta and yellow — for the machines behind Ricoh Aficio MP C2030, MP C2050 and MP C2530: the Ricoh Aficio MP C2030, MP C2050 and MP C2530 all run this same family. The listing is titled for the C2030, but nothing in the box is specific to that one model.

If one cartridge in the set turns out to be faulty, do I have to send all four back?

No — coverage is per cartridge, not per box. Each cartridge in this set carries our one-year warranty and one year of free returns (details on the shipping and returns page), so a single bad cartridge is replaced on its own while the other three keep working.
