Frequently Asked Questions

How long will one 20,000-page black cartridge last in a small office?

It depends on your monthly volume. At 1,000 pages a month, a single cartridge covers roughly 20 months of printing; at 2,500 pages a month, expect about eight months; a busier department printing 5,000 pages a month will go through one in around four months. The 20,000-page rating is measured at 5% page coverage, so dense reports and forms with heavy logos will finish the cartridge sooner than plain text memos.

What does printing actually cost per page with this cartridge?

At $67.76 for up to 20,000 pages, the toner cost works out to roughly 0.34 cents per page — well under a cent. That figure covers toner only; paper and electricity are separate, but for most offices toner is the largest per-page consumable cost, and this cartridge keeps it very low for a workgroup-class machine like the SP 5100N.

Which printer does this cartridge work in?

This cartridge is built for Ricoh Aficio SP 5100N. It is a black-only toner cartridge for that monochrome laser printer, and it is not interchangeable with color cartridges or with toners made for other Ricoh models.

What should I do if pages start coming out light or streaky near the end?

Light output usually means the toner is running low rather than failing. Remove the cartridge and rock it gently side to side a few times to redistribute the remaining powder — that often restores even coverage for a while longer. If streaks appear suddenly on a fresh cartridge, check that the sealing tape was fully removed and that the cartridge is seated firmly until it clicks.

Can I store this cartridge for months before installing it?

Yes. Keep it sealed in its original packaging, stored flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Stored that way, a spare cartridge stays ready for well over a year, which makes it practical to keep one on the shelf so a low-toner warning never stops a print run mid-job.

What warranty and return coverage does it come with?

Every cartridge is backed by a one-year warranty and one year of free returns. If a cartridge fails to perform, contact our support team Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and we will make it right. Full details are on our shipping and returns page.
