Frequently Asked Questions

Is $64.10 a fair price for a cartridge rated at 5,000 pages?

Honest answer: at roughly 1.28 cents per page, this is not the lowest per-page cost you will find in toner. The BP20 is an older machine with a modest cartridge capacity, and that math is what it is. What you are paying for here is availability — a fresh, working cartridge for a printer that many suppliers no longer stock, so a machine that still prints fine does not have to be replaced over a supply problem.

How long will 5,000 pages actually last in a small office?

At a light 300 pages a month, one cartridge can carry you well past a year. At 1,000 pages a month, expect roughly five months. Dense pages with heavy coverage will pull those numbers down, while ordinary letters, invoices, and reports usually land close to the rating. For a low-volume BP20, a single cartridge is often a long-term supply, not a monthly purchase.

Which printer is this cartridge made for?

This is the 402455 black cartridge built for the Ricoh Aficio BP20 monochrome laser printer. It is a black-only machine, so there are no color cartridges to match — if your current cartridge is marked 402455, this is the correct replacement. When in doubt, compare the number on the cartridge you pull out with the number on this listing before you order.

How can I tell the cartridge is truly empty rather than just low?

The BP20 warns early, and clean pages usually continue for a while after the first low-toner notice. The real end shows up as even fading across the whole page or the printer refusing to start jobs. Rocking the cartridge gently side to side can redistribute the remaining toner for a short extra run, but that is a stopgap — order the replacement when you use that trick, not after it stops working.

What happens if this cartridge disappoints me?

It is covered by a one-year warranty, and returns stay free for a full year too. If it leaks, streaks, or gives out far earlier than a 5,000-page cartridge reasonably should, get in touch and we will sort it out. The complete policy lives on our shipping and returns page.

When will my cartridge arrive, and who do I call with questions?

Orders ship out of our warehouses in IL, PA, GA, and CA, so delivery typically takes a few business days depending on where you are. If you want a hand confirming the cartridge number or checking on an order, our support team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Ricoh 402455 Black Toner Cartridge

This single black cartridge keeps the Ricoh Aficio BP20 printing: 5,000 rated pages at $64.10, which works out to about 1.28 cents a page. We will not pretend that is bargain toner — the value here is a dependable, in-stock supply for a legacy monochrome printer, sold one cartridge at a time for offices whose volume does not justify a multipack. Every cartridge is backed by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, and orders ship from our IL, PA, GA, and CA warehouses.
