Frequently Asked Questions

The BP20 only holds one cartridge — why would I buy two at once?

Because toner never runs out at a convenient moment. With this two-pack, one cartridge goes in the printer and the second waits sealed on the shelf, so the day the first one fades you are back up in minutes instead of waiting on a delivery. For an older machine like the BP20, where a dead printer can stall invoices and shipping labels, that spare is cheap insurance against downtime.

What does each cartridge in this pack really cost me?

The pair is $109.72, which puts each cartridge at $54.86 instead of the $64.10 single price — a saving of $18.48 across the two. Together they are rated for 10,000 pages, so your per-page cost drops from about 1.28 cents to roughly 1.10 cents. Same cartridge, same 5,000-page rating each; the discount comes purely from buying the spare at the same time.

Does this pack fit my printer?

Yes, if you run the Ricoh Aficio BP20 — both cartridges in this pack are the 402455 black cartridge that machine takes. The BP20 is monochrome only, so there is no color matching to worry about. If the cartridge currently in your printer reads 402455, either cartridge from this pack is a direct replacement.

Can I split this two-pack between two BP20 printers?

Absolutely. The two cartridges are individually sealed and identical, so nothing ties them to a single machine. Offices running a pair of BP20s often buy the two-pack and put one cartridge in each printer, taking the pack pricing without stocking a spare. Just keep any uninstalled cartridge in its sealed packaging until the day it goes in.

How should I store the spare cartridge?

Leave it in its sealed bag, lying flat in a cool, dry spot out of direct sunlight — a supply cabinet is perfect. Kept that way, a sealed cartridge holds up fine for the months it typically waits its turn. Avoid garages, boiler rooms, and anywhere that swings hot and cold, and do not open the packaging early; the seal is what keeps the toner fresh.

What if one of the two cartridges turns out to be a dud?

Each cartridge carries a one-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year from purchase. A problem with one cartridge is handled on that cartridge alone — you do not have to send back the good one or unwind the whole pack. Details are on our shipping and returns page, and we ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA, and CA so replacements move quickly.
