Frequently Asked Questions
What does a shelf spare actually prevent on a shared copier?
The 4 PM dead machine: a shared copier that stops for toner stops everyone's work, and the fix becomes an emergency retail run or an overnight shipment. A spare in the cabinet turns that into a one-minute swap. On a machine with many users and no single owner, that prevention is worth more than the cartridge itself.
How does the 2-pack pricing break down?
$39.12 for the pair — $19.56 per cartridge, against $28.81 bought singly. You save $18.50 versus two separate single purchases, and you get 14,000 rated pages of printing and copying in the box. The second cartridge comes close to half price simply for ordering it at the same time.
Simple: the day the spare goes into the machine, order the next pack. That keeps one cartridge always in reserve and means you never discover an empty shelf and an empty copier on the same morning. At shared-office volumes of 1,000–2,000 pages a month, each cartridge lasts roughly four to seven months, so the rhythm is relaxed.
How should the second cartridge be stored until it's needed?
Sealed in its original packaging, flat, in a cool dry spot away from windows and radiators. Toner is a dry powder and stores patiently when it's kept that way. When you install it, the cartridge from your next order takes its place as the spare, so the stock keeps rotating.
If we retire the 920, can the unopened cartridge go back?
Returns are free for a full year from purchase under the policy on our shipping & returns page, and each cartridge also carries a one-year warranty. So a machine change inside that window doesn't leave you holding an unusable spare.
