Frequently Asked Questions

Our reds look orange and photos look flat — is magenta the problem?

Very often, yes. Magenta is half of every red and a major component of skin tones, so as it fades, reds slide toward orange, faces lose their warmth, and purples wash out — usually gradually enough that people blame the paper or the file first. A test print with a known colorful image settles it quickly.

Why does this cartridge cost more than the cyan and yellow?

Straight answer: at $101.30 it is priced noticeably above this family's cyan ($63.43) and yellow ($66.90), and that works out to about 1.07 cents per rated page — the highest per-page cost of the three colors. We state the number plainly rather than dress it up; whether the machine's color output justifies it is a judgment your office should make with the figure in front of it.

How many pages should I expect from it?

The rating is 9,500 pages at standard 5% coverage, shared with the other colors in this family. Photo-heavy and marketing work will use magenta considerably faster than that rating suggests, while occasional color in reports and charts will land much closer to it.

Which printers use this magenta cartridge?

It serves Ricoh Aficio MP C3001 and MP C3501. Under the 8415 family name on the listing sits a single magenta cartridge design for the whole platform, so there is no model-by-model variation to worry about.

Can I replace magenta on its own, mid-set?

Yes — the colors are independent cartridges, and swapping only the magenta is normal practice on this platform. Your cyan and yellow keep whatever life they have left, and the machine recalibrates around the fresh cartridge automatically as part of its routine operation.

What protection comes with this cartridge?

It is covered by our one-year warranty, and if it disappoints you can return it free within a year — the process is laid out on our shipping & returns page. Support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you want to talk it through first.

About This Ricoh 841502 Magenta Toner Cartridge

This is the single magenta cartridge (841502) for the Ricoh Aficio MP C3001 / C3501 family, rated at 9,500 pages. Priced at $101.30 — about 1.07 cents per page — it is the premium-priced color in this set, a fact we put up front so the purchase is an informed one. Magenta carries reds, skin tones and brand colors, so for offices whose color output is customer-facing it is also the color most visibly missed when it fades. It ships from our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses and is backed by a one-year warranty with free returns for a year.
