Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a single cartridge the right buy for?

If your B411D prints modest volumes — invoices a few times a week, the occasional report — one cartridge at a time keeps cash in your pocket instead of on a shelf. This single 44574701 is rated at 4,000 pages, which at 300 pages a month is well over a year of printing. Light users get the full rated life out of a cartridge long before age matters, so there is no pressure to stock up.

What does one page cost with this cartridge?

At $28.45 for a 4,000-page rating, the math works out to about 0.71 cents per page, or roughly $7.11 per 1,000 pages. That is the single-cartridge rate — the same 44574701 is sold in multi-packs that push the per-page figure lower, but for a light-volume desk the absolute spend here is small either way.

What does the 4,000-page rating actually assume?

Page ratings are measured at about 5% page coverage — a typical text page with margins, not a page packed edge to edge with graphics. A B411D printing mostly letters, forms, and spreadsheets will land close to the rating. Heavy graphics, dense tables, and bold headers use more toner per page and shorten real-world life, which is normal for any cartridge, original or compatible.

Which printers take this cartridge?

This is the Okidata 44574701 black cartridge listed for the B411D. The same 44574701 also serves the Oki B411dn and B431d, plus the MB461 MFP, MB471, and MB471W multifunctions. If your office runs a mix of those machines, a single spare of this cartridge can cover more than one printer.

What should the first pages look like after I install it?

Expect normal, even black text from the first page — no break-in period and no faint warmup pages. If early pages look light, remove the cartridge and rock it gently side to side a few times to level the toner inside, then reinstall. Persistent streaks or blank bands are not a settling issue; contact us and the warranty below covers you.

What protection comes with this cartridge?
