Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 10-pack bring the price of a single drum down to?

To about $46.54. The pack is $465.39 for ten 43979001 drums that cost $63.18 each when bought one at a time, so the bulk price saves roughly $166.41 against ten singles — more than the cost of two extra drums. Nothing about the unit changes; it is the same drum rated at up to 25,000 pages, bought at fleet volume.

How much printing does a quarter of a million pages of drum life actually cover?

Ten drums at 25,000 pages each is 250,000 pages of imaging. For a single busy printer running 5,000 pages a month, that is over four years of drum changes handled in one order. Spread across a fleet of B410-family and MB-series machines, it is the kind of stock an office manager buys once and then stops thinking about drums altogether.

Is ten drums overkill for one printer?

For a lightly used machine, honestly, yes — a single drum can last years at a few hundred pages a month, and there is no prize for a decade of shelf stock. The 10-pack earns its place where several machines share the 43979001 — the Oki B410, B410dn, B420dn, B430d, MB460, MB470 and MB480 MFP — or where one printer's monthly volume eats a drum every few months.

How do I check I am ordering the right drum before committing to ten?

Pull the drum from any of your machines and read the number on it: 43979001 is the one this pack supplies. Model names are a weaker check because Oki reused similar names across generations, but the drum's part number is exact. If every machine in your fleet shows that number, one pack stocks them all.

What do worn drums look like when a fleet starts needing them?

The symptoms repeat across machines because the cause is the same: marks or spots recurring at fixed intervals down the page, a gray haze where the sheet should be white, streaks that persist after a toner swap. On any B410-family or MB460-series printer, that pattern means the drum's imaging surface — not the toner — has reached the end of its rated life.

Where does a bulk order ship from, and what if a drum is faulty?

Stock ships from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Every drum in the pack is a compatible unit covered by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns — details on the shipping & returns page — and matching toner for the fleet is listed on the Okidata brand page.
