Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy a 2-pack for a single MX722ADE instead of one cartridge at a time?

Because the day the installed cartridge runs dry is the worst day to start shopping. With this 2-pack, the second cartridge waits on your shelf, the swap takes two minutes, and the machine never misses a beat. You also order half as often, which quietly removes a recurring chore from someone's list.

What do we save with the 2-pack compared with two single cartridges?

Two singles at $438.46 each would cost $876.92. This pack is $858.43 — a savings of $18.49 — which brings the per-cartridge price down to $429.22 and the per-page cost to about 1.23 cents across the pack's 70,000 rated pages.

The pack is listed for the MX722ADE — can the cartridges be used in our other Lexmark models?

Absolutely. The title names the MX722ADE, but each cartridge is the platform-standard 58D1X00, made for the entire Lexmark 58D range: MS725DVN, MS823DN, MS823N, MS825DN, MS826DE, MX721ADE, MX721ADHE, MX722ADE, MX722ADHE, MX822ADE, MX822ADTE, MX822ADXE, MX826ADE and MX826ADXE. That flexibility means a 2-pack bought for one machine can rescue a different model in a pinch.

Will the second cartridge go stale sitting on the shelf?

Toner is a dry powder and stores well. Keep the spare sealed in its packaging, flat, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight, and it will be ready when the first cartridge finishes — which, at 35,000 pages per cartridge, could be many months away.

Are both cartridges in the pack covered the same way?

Yes — each cartridge carries the one-year warranty, and returns within a year are free. If the first cartridge out of the box ever gave you trouble, the policy on our shipping and returns page applies to it the same as any single purchase.

Does our copy volume change how far the 2-pack goes?

The pack's total is 70,000 rated pages, and copies draw from it exactly like prints — a page out of the tray is a page of toner. Scan-to-email work, by contrast, uses none. Budget the 70,000 against total printed and copied output and the pack's lifespan is easy to forecast.
