Yellow empties quietly. There's no dramatic fade — just a slow drift: greens pick up a blue edge, warm photos cool down, skin tones lose their sunlight. By the time the tank window on your ET-2800 or ET-4800 looks low, prints have been telling you for a week. Our compatible T522420-S bottle is the refill: 65 mL of dye yellow ink, rated up to 7,500 pages (ISO/IEC 24712, Epson methodology) — the joint-highest rating in the 522 family, shared with the other two colors and well above the family's black.

Epson builds the whole 522 family on dye ink, and yellow is a dye's showcase: it has to disappear into blends — half of every green, the warmth in every face, the glow in every highlight — without showing its own edges. That invisible work is why a starved yellow tank corrupts colors that don't even look yellow.
Refilling takes two minutes: keyed nozzle on the yellow tank only, auto-stop at full, cap back on the remainder. No chip, nothing to reset in the bottle. This yellow serves all eight 522 models (ET-2400, ET-2720, ET-2800, ET-2803, ET-2840, ET-4700, ET-4800, ET-4810) — and no 502 or 512 printer, whose yellow bottles are keyed differently. Covered by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do my greens look blue?
Green is cyan plus yellow. When yellow runs low, greens lose half their recipe and slide blue; warm tones go cold at the same time. It's the classic low-yellow signature on an EcoTank — refill this tank first.
What are this bottle's numbers?
T522420-S: 65 mL dye yellow, up to 7,500 pages (ISO/IEC 24712, Epson methodology) — the family color rating. The matching black bottle is rated 4,500; the colors genuinely outlast it in this family.
Which printers take it?
The eight 522 models: ET-2400, ET-2720, ET-2800, ET-2803, ET-2840, ET-4700, ET-4800 and ET-4810 — each verified against Epson's own pages.
Is the 522 yellow the same product as 512 yellow?
No. The 512 yellow (T512420-S) is a 70 mL bottle for two photo printers, rated 5,000 pages, with different keying. One-digit family difference, completely different bottle.
Dye or pigment?
Dye. All four 522 positions are dye ink — that's Epson's stated ink technology for the family, confirmed in its datasheets and product data.
Can the printer reject it?
There's nothing to reject: no chip, no electronics. The nozzle either seats on the yellow tank (correct) or doesn't fit at all (wrong tank).
Should I refill yellow before it's fully empty?
You can top up at any level — EcoTank is designed for it. Many owners refill when the window shows about a quarter left, before color drift starts showing in prints.
What if prints still look off after refilling?
Run a nozzle check. If yellow bars are broken or missing, do one head-cleaning cycle; a full tank plus a clean nozzle restores the blend. Persistent problems with a full, clean system are what the lifetime warranty is for.
Is it OK that the ET-2840 page shows a 7,300 color yield?
Yes — that's Epson's printer-side measurement for that model (and the ET-4810). The bottle is the same; our pages carry the family's standard 7,500 rating and note the model figure on those category pages.
How do I keep the rest of the bottle?
Sealed cap, upright, room temperature, no direct sun.
Genuine Epson?
No — a Clever Supplies compatible bottle built to the T522420-S specification, labeled compatible on the box and on this page.
What cover comes with it?
A lifetime warranty (a bottle that fails to perform is replaced) and free returns within the first year.
