Frequently Asked Questions

When should I reorder the 593-BBOY instead of waiting for it to run dry?

Magenta rarely announces itself politely — the first sign is usually prints losing their reds partway through a job. A good rhythm for an H625 in regular use is to order the 593-BBOY when the printer's magenta gauge drops into its low zone, rather than at empty. That way the replacement is on your shelf the day the old cartridge gives up, and nobody is mid-print-run with faded output.

Can I keep a spare 593-BBOY on the shelf, or does toner go stale?

A sealed cartridge keeps well. Store the 593-BBOY flat, in its bag, away from heat and direct sunlight, and it will wait months without any drama — toner powder does not dry out the way ink does. Keeping one spare of the color your office burns fastest is cheap insurance against a dead printer on a deadline day.

What is involved in swapping the magenta cartridge?

Open the H625, lift out the cartridge sitting in the magenta slot, and slide the 593-BBOY in until it seats. Only that one position is disturbed; cyan, yellow and black stay in place with their levels untouched. The printer reports magenta back at full on its supplies page, and you are printing again in about a minute.

How does the cost of this cartridge break down?

The 593-BBOY is $31.12 for a 2,500-page rating, which is roughly 1.24 cents per page for magenta. Honestly stated, compact color lasers are not the cheapest way to print a page — that crown belongs to big workgroup machines. Within the H625's class, a compatible cartridge at this price is where the sensible money goes, especially with a one-year warranty behind it.

Is this an original Dell cartridge?

No — the 593-BBOY sold here is a Clever Supplies compatible cartridge, built to fit the magenta slot of Dell's H625-H825 family and rated to the same 2,500-page benchmark. Compatible is exactly why the price is $31.12 rather than Dell's list price, and it is covered by our one-year warranty and one-year free returns, detailed on the shipping and returns page.

Who do I talk to if I am not sure this is the right cartridge?

Our support team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central, and can confirm the 593-BBOY against your printer before you order. Orders ship from our warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California.

About This 593-BBOY Magenta Cartridge

The 593-BBOY is the magenta cartridge for the Dell H625-H825 color laser family, including the Color Laser H625cdw, rated at 2,500 pages and sold here as a single compatible cartridge for $31.12. Magenta is the color that quietly drives reds, charts and skin tones, so it often needs replacing ahead of its siblings — this listing lets you do exactly that, one cartridge at a time.
