Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a 5-pack of black cartridges actually sized for?

For a 5100 that never really rests — a busy departmental printer, or a small fleet of 5100 and 5100cn machines drawing on one shared stock. Between them, five Dell 310-5807 cartridges hold 45,000 rated pages, which is a serious reserve: even at 5,000 pages a month, this single order covers roughly nine months of black printing. A lone printer with light volume will not need it; a machine everyone depends on is exactly who it is for.

What does the bulk price do to the numbers?

Five cartridges bought singly would total $242.50. The 5-pack is $168.52, saving $73.98 and bringing each cartridge down to $33.70. Spread over 45,000 rated pages, black toner lands at about 0.37 cents per page — the lowest per-page figure this cartridge reaches. The units themselves are unchanged: the same compatible high-yield black, the same 9,000-page rating on every one.

How do we keep track of five cartridges in a stockroom?

Order by the part number — 310-5807 — on your shelf label and reorder point, and the stock manages itself. Keep the boxes sealed, flat and out of sunlight, load them oldest first, and set the reorder trigger at the last box: when cartridge five goes into a machine, the next order goes out the same day. That rhythm means the shelf never sits empty and never overflows either.

Does buying five at once risk cartridges going stale?

Not under normal storage. Toner is a dry powder sealed inside the unit, so an unopened cartridge stored cool and dry keeps its rated performance for a long shelf life — it does not dry out the way liquid ink does. The realistic risk is organisational, not chemical: losing track of what is on the shelf. Buy the 5-pack against a known print volume and that risk disappears.

Can one pack serve more than one printer?

Yes, as long as each machine is a Dell 5100 or 5100cn — every cartridge in the pack is the same 310-5807 high-yield black, so a shared cupboard can feed several printers without sorting or labeling headaches. That commonality is one of the quiet advantages of standardising on one machine family across a floor.

What backing stands behind a bulk order like this?

The same as behind a single cartridge: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns on every unit in the pack, so a faulty cartridge among the five comes back to us on the same terms. Our team is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, with the full policy on our shipping & returns page. The pack ships from whichever of our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses is closest to you.
