Frequently Asked Questions
How far does one cartridge really go in our Dell 3333?
This cartridge — part number 330-8985 — is rated at up to 14,000 pages, and priced at $107.84. In a 3333 handling a steady department workload of around 3,000 pages a month, that rating translates to roughly four to five months between changes. Heavier coverage than plain office text shortens the run; light text-only printing can stretch it.
What is the true running cost per page in the 3333?
About 0.77 cents per rated page: $107.84 divided across 14,000 pages. That is the number to use when you are costing the machine's output, because it holds regardless of how the cartridge itself was priced on the shelf.
Why is the part number printed on this listing as (330-8985)?
Because the 3333 takes its toner by that number, and ordering by number removes the guesswork that printer names create. If the cartridge you pulled out of the machine, or the line on your last invoice, reads 330-8985, this single black cartridge is the same item.
Our 3333's prints have started coming out pale — is the cartridge done?
Very likely near the end. On a long-life cartridge the fade builds gradually, so output can look washed out for days before anything fails outright. Removing the cartridge and rocking it gently side to side can redistribute the remaining toner and buy a short reprieve, but treat pale prints as the signal to order, not as a problem solved.
Is this the genuine Dell cartridge for the 3333?
No — it is a compatible 330-8985 made by a third-party manufacturer to the same specification. Judge it on the figures stated here: a 14,000-page rating, a $107.84 price and the warranty and returns cover below.
What happens if it underperforms?
It is covered by a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Details are on our shipping & returns page.
