Frequently Asked Questions

The Dell 1320 has four slots — why does this set contain five cartridges?

Because the fifth cartridge is a shelf spare, not a fifth slot. The four slots take the 310-9058 black, 310-9060 cyan, 310-9064 magenta and 310-9062 yellow; the extra cartridge waits sealed in the box so that when one slot runs out mid-job, its replacement is already in the building. On a machine where every cartridge is rated at 2,000 pages, that spare converts a multi-day wait into a two-minute swap.

How much does the spare actually cost me?

The five-cartridge set is $47.69 against $40.95 for the four-cartridge set, so the spare adds $6.74 — less than the $10.24 a cartridge costs inside the four-pack. Put differently, the five cartridges average $9.54 each. That is the whole economic argument for this box: the cheapest cartridge in the family is the one bought as a spare in advance.

Which colors are the five cartridges?

They are drawn from the same four numbers the 1320 uses — 310-9058 (black), 310-9060 (cyan), 310-9064 (magenta) and 310-9062 (yellow), each rated at 2,000 pages — with one of the four doubled up as the spare. The slot set installed in the printer is unchanged: one cartridge per color, exactly as the machine was designed.

How should we handle the spare once the box is open?

Keep it sealed, stored flat at room temperature out of direct sunlight, and put a note on the box saying which slot it belongs to. A labeled spare prevents the classic mix-up of a well-meaning colleague forcing the wrong cartridge toward the wrong slot — the cartridges are keyed by color, but a label saves the experiment entirely.

Is five cartridges too many for a light-use 1320?

It can be. If your 1320 prints a few pages a week, a four-cartridge set rated at 2,000 pages per slot may already last years, and the spare's value shrinks. This five-pack earns its keep where the printer works daily and an empty slot stops real work — there, $6.74 of insurance against downtime is easy math.

What warranty covers the spare cartridge sitting on our shelf?

All five cartridges are compatible cartridges covered by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, per our shipping & returns policy. Orders ship from IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses, and support is staffed Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.
