Frequently Asked Questions

How do I confirm it is the cyan that has failed before I order?

Print something with separated colors — a test page or a document containing a pure blue block, a pure green block, a red block, and a yellow block. Blue and green are the two results that need cyan: if those two look wrong while red and yellow print cleanly, the cyan cartridge (5101C001) in your MF657Cdw is the culprit. If red looks wrong too, the fault may sit elsewhere.

Why do blue and green give the game away?

Because of how the Canon 067 palette mixes. Blue is built from cyan with magenta; green from cyan with yellow. Cyan appears in both recipes, so a failing cyan corrupts both, while magenta-only and yellow-only colors stay honest. The MF657Cdw — running black 5102C001, cyan 5101C001, magenta 5100C001, yellow 5099C001 — is effectively showing you which supply has run out if you read the pattern.

How many pages does the replacement give me?

The 067 cyan is rated at up to 1,250 pages under standard test conditions. Real output depends on how cyan-heavy your pages are: blue-rich reports and images use it far faster than ordinary documents. The cartridge is $64.27, around 5.14 cents per page at the rated yield — a premium-family number we state openly rather than rounding into a sales claim.

What if I fit this and the blues are still wrong?

Then the diagnosis moves to the printer itself, and our support team (Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST) can help you work through it. The cartridge side of the bargain is protected regardless: one-year warranty and one-year free returns, with terms on our shipping and returns page, so testing the most likely cause first costs you nothing if it turns out innocent.

Is this a genuine Canon cartridge?

No — it is a compatible cartridge built to the Canon 067 cyan specification, part 5101C001, for the MF657Cdw. The compatible route is what makes the one-year returns coverage possible at this price point, and the cartridge is made to install in the cyan slot exactly as the original does.

Should I change any other cartridge at the same time?

Only if its output is also failing the color-block test. Cartridges in the MF657Cdw live independent lives; a clean-printing magenta or yellow should stay in place and finish its yield.
