Frequently Asked Questions

Five of us share this MF655CW. Is a pair of blacks a sensible buffer?

For a shared printer, yes — sharing multiplies consumption in a way single users don't experience, and the black cartridge takes nearly all of it because shared machines print documents. Two Canon 067 black cartridges (5102C001) mean one is always in reserve: nobody's print job waits on a delivery, and nobody has to be the person who forgot to reorder. When the reserve goes in, that is the team's signal to buy the next pair.

How fast will a shared machine eat through 2,700 pages?

Faster than a private one — that is arithmetic, not a flaw. Each 5102C001 is rated at 1,350 pages, and a team producing paperwork daily will turn the pair over steadily. The useful habit is watching the pace of the first cartridge: it calibrates exactly how often the team needs this pack, and the low-toner warning gives ample notice either way.

What does the team save by pairing up?

The pack is $110.07, which is $55.04 per cartridge against $64.27 singly — two singles total $128.54, so $18.47 saved per cycle, and the per-page figure eases from about 4.76¢ to roughly 4.08¢ across the 2,700 rated pages. On a shared office budget those savings repeat every cycle, not just once.

Exactly which cartridges are in the box?

Two standard-yield compatible Canon 067 black toner cartridges, part number 5102C001, for the Color imageCLASS MF655CW. Colors are not included — the 067 cyan (5101C001), magenta (5100C001) and yellow (5099C001) are bought separately, usually one at a time since a shared machine still sips color compared with black.

The spare will live in a shared supply cupboard. Any concerns?

None beyond ordinary care: leave it sealed and flat, in a dry spot. Toner is dry powder and ignores the shelf — the second 5102C001 will print its full rating whenever its turn comes, whether that is next month or much later. Keeping the box also protects it from being knocked around by other supplies.

What if a cartridge misbehaves in a shared environment?

Each cartridge carries our one-year warranty and one-year free returns, as laid out on the shipping and returns page — high usage by several people is normal use, and the cover holds. Our support team works Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
