Frequently Asked Questions

Two cartridges, one slot — how does the rhythm of using this pack work?

Strictly one at a time. Fit the first Canon 067 black (5102C001), print its full 1,350 rated pages, and only when its output fades for good do you open the second. The pack is a relay, not a double install: cartridge two starts its life the day cartridge one's ends. Between them they give the MF654CDW 2,700 pages with a changeover that takes minutes.

Any fitting tips that actually make a difference?

Two small ones. Before fitting a fresh 5102C001, rock it gently from side to side a few times — this loosens and evens the toner powder for consistent first pages. And remove its protective seal completely before it goes in; a partially pulled seal is the classic cause of a "new cartridge printing nothing" panic. Beyond that, handle it by its body and keep it level.

Remind me of the saving the pack builds in.

Each cartridge works out at $55.04 in this pack against $64.27 bought singly — two singles would total $128.54, the pack is $110.07, so $18.47 stays with you. Across the 2,700 combined rated pages that trims the per-page figure to roughly 4.08¢ from about 4.76¢. For a compact color laser, that is as frugal as its black toner gets.

What is in the pack for the MF654CDW — black only?

Black only: two standard-yield Canon 067 black cartridges, part number 5102C001, for the Color imageCLASS MF654CDW. The machine's colors are separate single cartridges — 067 cyan (5101C001), magenta (5100C001) and yellow (5099C001) — and the high-yield black alternative is the 067H (5106C001).

The second cartridge may sit for months. Any harm in that?

None. Sealed and stored flat in a cool, dry place, the spare 5102C001 keeps its full rated yield — toner is dry powder and does not spoil on the shelf. Long gaps between the two changeovers are exactly the pattern this pack is designed for.

What backs the pack if a cartridge disappoints?

A one-year warranty and one-year free returns cover each cartridge individually; the policy is spelled out on our shipping and returns page. Support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders leave from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA.
