Frequently Asked Questions

Why do blue areas on our prints show bands and streaks?

Banding in blue regions points first at the cyan cartridge. As the 5101C001 in your MF655Cdw nears empty, toner lays down unevenly, and smooth blue gradients — sky, water, presentation backgrounds — break into visible stripes while flat colors still look acceptable. Solid text staying clean while blue areas band is the classic pattern of a cyan cartridge at the end of its life rather than a printer fault.

Are gradients really the hardest test for a cartridge?

Yes. A gradient asks the printer for every shade between full cyan and none, so any unevenness in supply shows immediately. That is why a cartridge can look fine on office documents and still disgrace itself on a photo or a slide background — the MF655Cdw is only ever outputting what the cyan cartridge can supply.

How far does this cartridge go on photo-style printing?

The rating for the Canon 067 cyan is up to 1,250 pages at standard test coverage, and photos are far heavier than the test — a full-page image can use several times the toner of a memo page. Expect noticeably fewer pages when image work dominates. At $64.27 the rated cost is about 5.14 cents per page; image-heavy use raises the effective cost, and we think that trade-off should be stated, not hidden.

Once I fit the new cyan, will gradients clean up straight away?

Usually within the first page or two. Run a print with a broad blue gradient after installing the 5101C001 in the MF655Cdw; if bands remain in exactly the same positions across different images, the cause may sit elsewhere in the printer, and our support team (Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST) can talk it through.

What protection do I get with this compatible cartridge?

A one-year warranty plus one-year free returns — the terms live on our shipping and returns page. This is a compatible Canon 067 cyan cartridge, not a genuine Canon part, and the coverage means a faulty unit is our problem, not yours.

Which other 067 cartridges does the MF655Cdw use?

Black 5102C001, magenta 5100C001, and yellow 5099C001 sit beside this cyan (5101C001). Magenta and yellow faults band in their own color regions; if your bands are only in blues and greens, cyan is the one to change.
