Frequently Asked Questions

Our reds print orange-brown and the oranges look muddy. Where do we look first?

At the yellow cartridge. Red on paper is magenta plus yellow, and orange is mostly yellow with some magenta. When the yellow in your MF654CDW fades, both mixtures lose their brightness: reds go dull and brick-like, oranges turn muddy, and the whole page feels cooler than it should. It is one of the clearest fingerprints of a spent Canon 067 yellow (5099C001).

Why does yellow control warm colours so completely?

Because in print, yellow is the warmth. Cyan cools and darkens, magenta adds depth, but yellow is what makes reds glow, oranges shine and highlights feel sunny. Remove it and the warm half of the colour wheel collapses — which is why a single tired cartridge can make an entire brochure look like it was printed on a grey day.

How can we confirm it before ordering?

Print a page with four solid blocks — one of each colour. The yellow block should be a clear, bright yellow. If it prints faint, streaky or barely there while the other three blocks are strong, you have your answer: the 5099C001 is finished and the others can stay where they are.

How many pages does the replacement give us?

The rating is 1,250 pages, and the price is $64.27 — around 5.14 cents per rated page. That is not the cheapest page cost on the internet and we will not claim otherwise. It is the cost of warm colours coming back properly in an MF654CDW, from a compatible Canon 067 cartridge built for the job.

What if the new cartridge does not bring the warmth back?

You are covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. If this yellow is at fault, we replace or refund — the details are on our shipping and returns page. Talk to support first if you like: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

How fast will it reach us?

Orders are sent from the best-placed of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California — so delivery is a short hop rather than a cross-country trek.
