Frequently Asked Questions

What does the second cartridge in this 2-pack actually cost?

$64.18. A single GPR42BK cartridge is $82.66 and the pair is $146.84, so the second cartridge joins the order for $64.18 — the per-cartridge price falls to $73.42, and the pack saves $18.48 against two singles bought separately. That marginal-cost drop is the entire argument for the 2-pack in one line.

How many pages does the pair hold, and at what page cost?

Two cartridges at 34,200 pages each give 68,400 pages. At $146.84 the rated cost comes down to about 0.21 cents per page, from roughly 0.24 cents on a single — the first and easiest step down this family's cost ladder.

Why does a production machine need the spare ready before the first runs out?

Because on a working imageRUNNER, toner-out never arrives at a quiet moment. With the second cartridge already on site, the change happens the minute the machine calls for it, and the queue of copying and printing behind the machine never forms. The spare converts an emergency into a routine swap.

Can one cartridge wait months before it is used?

Yes, with ordinary care: keep it sealed, store it flat somewhere cool and dry, and load it when the first cartridge is done. No special handling is needed — the discipline is simply to keep the packaging intact until the day of the change.

Will this pack also fit a machine running GPR-38 cartridges?

No. These are GPR-42 cartridges (GPR42BK). The GPR-38 — like the GPR-43 — belongs to different imageRUNNER models, and the cartridges are not interchangeable between families.

What protection covers the pack?

The one-year warranty and one-year free returns apply to each cartridge, as set out on the shipping and returns page. Stock ships from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
