Frequently Asked Questions
Who buys six color cartridges and not a single black?
A site whose color volume dwarfs its black cartridge cycle. This set is two full GPR-31 color banks — the GPR-31C cyan, GPR-31M magenta and GPR-31Y yellow, 27,000 pages each, twice over — with no GPR-31BK in the box. On a color production machine the black, rated at 36,000 pages, is also frequently stocked on its own separate ladder or shared across a fleet's supply order, so the color bank is what needs depth.
What does doubling up do to the per-cartridge price?
It brings it to $96.67 — $580.00 across six cartridges. Measured against the obvious alternative, two of the family's 3-color sets would total $598.48, so this listing saves $18.48 on the same six cartridges, and against the uneven singles pricing ($85.81 to $133.64 depending on color) the set average is a simpler number to budget around.
How should two color banks be rotated through the machine?
Strictly oldest first. Install the first bank of GPR-31C, GPR-31M and GPR-31Y, keep the second bank sealed, and when a color reaches its end swap in its counterpart from the shelf stock rather than raiding a fresh full set each time. Write the arrival date on the outer box when the set lands; with two banks in rotation, memory alone will not keep the order straight.
Why would a site not just include the black and buy the 8-cartridge set?
Because their black supply is already handled. The 8-cartridge set exists for sites that stock everything through one listing; this one exists for sites whose black cartridges come from a different budget line, a shared fleet pool, or a standing order of their own. Buying blacks here as well would duplicate stock they already hold.
Does holding six cartridges risk them ageing out?
Not under any normal production rhythm. A machine that genuinely needs two color banks will turn this stock over well inside sensible timeframes, and sealed cartridges stored flat, cool and dry wait without deteriorating. The risk profile flips only for a low-volume site — if a single color bank lasts you most of a year, this set is more shelf than you need, and the 3-color set is the honest size.
What happens if one of the six proves defective?
It is claimed on its own. Every cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns individually, so one bad unit is replaced or returned while its five siblings stay in rotation. Support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses.
