Frequently Asked Questions
What changes when the black joins the three colors in one box?
The refresh stops being partial. This set carries the complete GPR-31 bank — GPR-31BK black rated at 36,000 pages plus GPR-31C cyan, GPR-31M magenta and GPR-31Y yellow at 27,000 each — so the machine comes out of one session with every slot at zero pages. The step over the 3-color set is $73.43, and in exchange there is no second order, no second delivery and no second interruption when the black follows the colors a few weeks later.
When is the full set the right call instead of the color set?
When the black's remaining life no longer justifies separate handling — a new machine install, a bank that has drifted into mixed ages from one-off replacements, or a black that is visibly near the end alongside the colors. If the black is genuinely young, the 3-color set is the honest buy and this one is money parked on a shelf.
What does the set work out to per cartridge?
$93.17 on average — $372.67 across the four cartridges. Set against the family's singles, that average sits below even the yellow's single price and far below the magenta's $133.64, which is the quiet benefit of set pricing in a family whose individual color prices are uneven.
After a full set, which cartridge will call first next time?
One of the colors. All four start together, but the black is rated 9,000 pages beyond each color, so the color bank reaches the end first on any queue with meaningful color content. Plan the next refresh as a color-only one — the rhythm this family settles into is a full set once, then color sets, with the black changed on the occasions it coincides.
How should the swap session itself be run?
With the set already in the building and a quiet window picked. Confirm all four cartridges are in the box on arrival — GPR-31BK, GPR-31C, GPR-31M, GPR-31Y — then change the bank in one pass and run a test page set before releasing the machine back to production. Four swaps is minutes of work; discovering a missing cartridge mid-session is the only way it becomes downtime.
What cover applies across the set?
Each cartridge individually: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns on every unit in the box. One faulty cartridge never means returning four. Our support team works Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the set ships from whichever of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses puts it with you soonest.
