Frequently Asked Questions

When does replacing all four cartridges at once actually make sense?

Three situations, mainly. A machine that is new to you, whose cartridges are of unknown age and mixed brands. A machine whose colors have drifted after months of piecemeal single replacements, where no calibration quite settles it. And a machine coming back into full color duty after a long mono-only stretch, with its color cartridges old and unevenly spent. In each case a complete Canon 118 set — black, cyan, magenta and yellow starting together — gives the machine a clean baseline that calibration can actually hold.

What exactly is inside this Canon 118 4-color set?

All four cartridges for the platform, each rated on its own: black (part number 2662B001AA) at 3,400 pages, and cyan (2661B001AA), magenta (2660B001AA) and yellow (2659B001AA) at 2,900 pages each. The black is rated higher because these machines spend it on every document, color or not, while the three colors are rated alike. Note the ratings are stated per cartridge — the set is a matched family, not a single pooled page count.

This set costs less than the three color singles alone — how?

Check the arithmetic yourself: the cyan, magenta and yellow singles are $43.30 each, so just the three colors bought separately total $129.90. This full four-cartridge set is $110.04 — $19.86 less than the colors alone, with the black cartridge included on top. Across the four cartridges that is an average of $27.51 each. Bundled sets are priced this way because one box and one shipment is genuinely cheaper to fulfill than four separate orders, and the saving is passed on rather than padded.

Which printers does this full set fit?

The imageCLASS color machines on the Canon 118 platform, including the ImageClass MF8350CDN, MF8380CDW, MF8330, MF8330CDN, MF8580 and MF8580CDW multifunction models and the LBP7200CDN and LBP7660CDN printers. If your machine's supply list shows all four Canon 118 part numbers — 2662B001AA, 2661B001AA, 2660B001AA and 2659B001AA — this one box refreshes every slot your machine has.

Do all four cartridges have to go in on the same day?

No. A set is a purchase, not an installation schedule. Many offices install the colors and keep the black sealed until the old one fades, or the other way round. Unopened cartridges store happily — sealed, flat, in a cool dry place — so stage the change however suits the machine's actual state. The one step worth not skipping, whenever each cartridge goes in, is running the color calibration afterward so the new cartridge is balanced against its neighbors.

What warranty and returns cover the four cartridges?

Each cartridge carries our standard cover individually: a 1-year warranty against defects and 1-year free returns if it does not perform as it should. A fault in one cartridge is resolved on that cartridge — the rest of the set is not dragged into it. The full terms are on our shipping and returns page, and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you want help planning a full reset.
