Frequently Asked Questions

Eight cartridges is a serious stockpile. Who actually buys a set this size?

Offices whose Canon 046 machines cannot wait on deliveries: busy single machines that burn through toner monthly, and sites running more than one imageCLASS printer on the same Canon 046H family, where one shelf of cartridges serves them all. This set holds eight cartridges across the family's four codes — black 046HBK, cyan 046HC, magenta 046HM and yellow 046HY — so every slot of every compatible machine in the building has cover on site.

What is the per-cartridge price at this size?

The set is $159.93 for eight cartridges, which averages to about $19.99 each — the lowest per-cartridge price in the Canon 046H range at this store. For scale, just the four core cartridges bought singly total $144.69, so this set delivers eight cartridges for only $15.24 more than four singles. The bigger the set, the closer the price per cartridge gets to the floor.

What yields are we stocking?

The Canon 046H high-yield class throughout: black 046HBK rated at up to 6,300 pages, and each color — 046HC, 046HM, 046HY — rated at up to 5,000 pages, measured at the standard 5% coverage. We give the ratings per class rather than one headline total, because the cartridges will be fitted at different times as different slots run down; dense color work will always draw the colors faster than documents draw the black.

Will cartridges bought in bulk go stale before we use them?

Not if they are stored properly. Every cartridge in the set is individually sealed; kept sealed, flat, and away from sunlight and heat, cartridges stay fresh for a long shelf life. The real risk is not age but storage — a hot storeroom or a sunny windowsill. A cool cupboard near the printers is all the warehousing this set needs.

How does this compare with simply ordering the 4-piece set twice?

Two 4-piece Canon 046H sets would cost $178.42 and arrive as two orders; this 8-piece set is $159.93 in a single order — $18.49 less for the same eight-slot coverage. There is also one delivery to receive and one invoice to file. If your usage is certain enough to plan a full stock cycle ahead, the single larger set is the tidier and cheaper route.

What warranty and returns cover a bulk set like this?

The same per-cartridge cover as everything else we sell: each compatible Canon 046H cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, handled individually, so a fault in one cartridge out of eight never means returning the rest. The policy is spelled out on our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from whichever of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses is closest, and our support team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
