Frequently Asked Questions

Six color cartridges and no black — who is this set for?

Color-led workplaces: the studio, the sales team, the office whose Canon 046H machine prints charts, flyers and presentations all day while text makes up a minority of its output. This set holds six color cartridges from the Canon 046H family — 046HC cyan, 046HM magenta and 046HY yellow, each rated at up to 5,000 pages. Black is deliberately left out: the sibling 046HBK black, rated at 6,300 pages, is bought on its own schedule in these offices because it empties on document work, not on color runs.

How does the pricing work out per cartridge?

The set is $126.34 for six cartridges, an average of about $21.06 each. Compare the starting point: the three core color singles total $109.41, so this set puts six color cartridges on your shelf for $16.93 more than three singles cost. Bought one by one at single prices, six of these cartridges would be a far larger bill; set pricing is where the color-heavy office claws its running costs back.

Why do colors get consumed so much faster than black in our office?

Because one color page drinks from three cartridges at once. Every chart and photograph lays down cyan, magenta and yellow together, while a text page touches black alone. Offices printing color daily routinely find a full round of colors gone in the time a single black — even the hardest-working 046HBK — is only partway through its 6,300 pages. A colors-only set in depth simply matches how the machine actually consumes toner.

How does this compare with the smaller 3-piece color set?

Same cartridges, better unit price. The 3-piece Canon 046H color set is $72.42, about $24.14 per cartridge; this six-piece set brings the average down to roughly $21.06. If your machine gets through one round of colors and immediately starts on the next, the six-piece set is the cheaper habit; if color printing comes in occasional bursts, the 3-piece set with its lower upfront cost is the honest fit.

How should six cartridges be stored without quality suffering?

Sealed, flat, cool and dark. Each cartridge is individually sealed in its packaging, and unopened cartridges keep their freshness well on the shelf; what harms them is heat and direct sun, not time. Keep the box in an office cupboard rather than next to a radiator or on the printer itself, and fit each cartridge only when its slot asks for it.

What warranty applies across the six cartridges?

Each cartridge is covered on its own: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns per cartridge, so one faulty color is resolved individually without disturbing the other five. These are compatible Canon 046H cartridges, and the full policy sits on our shipping and returns page. We ship from whichever warehouse — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is nearest you, and support is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
