Frequently Asked Questions

How long can three high-yield blacks carry a typical office?

At 5,000 pages per cartridge, three TN115BK cartridges cover roughly 15,000 pages of black printing. An office printing 1,000 document pages a month would not reorder black toner for well over a year. That is the point of this pack: one order, and the most-consumed cartridge in the machine is settled for the long term.

What is the saving against buying the singles?

Three TN115BK singles at $44.92 come to $134.76. This three-pack costs $97.76 — a saving of $37.00 — which brings the per-cartridge price to $32.59 and the cost per page to about 0.65 cents at rated yield. It is the same high-yield cartridge, just bought the way a planner buys it.

Does the printer report the high-yield cartridge's level correctly?

Yes. Because the machine was designed for both TN110 and TN115 capacities, its toner gauge accounts for the TN115BK's larger 5,000-page fill. You will see the level fall more slowly than with a standard cartridge — that is the extra toner at work, not a fault.

Which printers can use these cartridges?

All three are TN115BK high-yield blacks for the Brother color laser family built on TN110/TN115 cartridges: DCP-9040CN, DCP-9045CDN, HL-4040CDN, HL-4040CN, HL-4070CDW, MFC-9440CN and MFC-9450CDN. They fit the same black slot as the standard TN110BK, so you can switch between standard and high-yield stock on the same machine freely.

Any storage advice for cartridges that may wait a year?

Keep them in their sealed packaging, stored flat in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and heat sources. Toner is a dry powder and keeps well; a cartridge installed after long storage benefits from a few gentle side-to-side rocks to loosen the powder before it goes in. Use the oldest cartridge first and the full yield is there when you need it.

What happens if one of the three disappoints?

Each cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty, and returns are free within a year under our shipping & returns policy. Orders ship from our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses, and our support team is available 9 AM – 5 PM CST. Prefer to top up one at a time later? The TN115BK single matches this pack exactly.
