Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the second cartridge in this 2-pack cost so much less than the first?

Because the pricing steps down, and the numbers show it plainly. Two Canon 128 cartridges bought as singles would cost $52.38; this 2-pack is $33.88 — a saving of $18.50, which brings each cartridge down to $16.94. Nothing about the cartridges changes: both are the same Canon 128 (3500B001AA) unit rated at 2,100 pages. The discount is simply the economics of shipping and handling two cartridges in one order instead of two separate ones.

How many pages does the pair actually cover?

Each cartridge is rated at up to 2,100 pages at standard coverage, so the pair covers up to 4,200 pages in total. For an office printing around 500 pages a month, that is roughly eight months of printing from one purchase — one cartridge working in the machine and one sealed spare in the cabinet for the day the first one fades.

Does a spare cartridge go bad sitting on the shelf?

Not if you store it sensibly. Keep the second cartridge sealed in its bag, lying flat, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. A supply cupboard is ideal. Sealed this way, a compatible cartridge waits without any meaningful loss — there is no clock ticking on an unopened unit, and no reason to install it early just to "use it up."

Print quality dropped suddenly mid-cartridge — what should I check first?

Streaks or a pale band usually mean toner has settled unevenly, not that the cartridge is empty. Take it out, rock it gently side to side five or six times, and print a test page; even output means you have life left. If the whole page stays uniformly pale after that, the cartridge is genuinely near the end — and with this 2-pack, your replacement is already in the building.

What if one of the two cartridges is faulty?

Each cartridge is covered individually by our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. If one prints badly, leaks, or fails early, we replace it or refund it — you do not have to return the good cartridge to make a claim on the bad one. The full terms are on our shipping and returns page.

Where does my order ship from?

From whichever of our four US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is best placed for your address. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you want to confirm fit or timing before ordering.
