The MFC-J6930DW belongs to Brother's Business Smart Pro line, and its ink story is deliberately two-tiered: LC3017 High Yield below, LC3019 Super High Yield above, both built for this printer. The Clever Supplies compatible cartridges below are chipped and ready to install, with a lifetime warranty. This is a standard-cassette printer — it does NOT take LC3029 Tank cartridges.

MFC-J6930DW Ink — The Two Rungs of the Standard-Cassette Platform
Brother lists the MFC-J6930DW for both LC3017 and LC3019, and the lists are identical — that is the standard-cassette platform. A High cartridge (LC3017BK, LC3017C, LC3017M, LC3017Y — 550 pages each) and a Super High cartridge (LC3019BK, LC3019C, LC3019M, LC3019Y — 3,000 black / 1,500 color pages) in the same color differ only in fill, and the two tiers can be mixed color by color (all yields ISO/IEC 24711).
Start from the code on your old cartridge. If it reads LC3017, its Super High counterpart is LC3019 in the same color — same printer, same slot, 3,000 black / 1,500 color pages instead of 550. If it reads LC3019, the High counterpart is LC3017. Sets exist on both rungs (Set of 4 and Set of 9); there is no compatible black 2-pack in this range. Do not order LC3029 for this printer — it is a Tank cartridge for different machines, not an upgrade for this one.

Chip, ink and everyday use
Every cartridge on this page carries a new compatible chip. One honest expectation: with a compatible cartridge the printer may show “Cannot Detect Ink Volume” — Brother’s support text says the machine keeps working with that message.
