The MFC-J5330DW is a Business Smart Pro all-in-one whose ink shelf has two rungs: LC3017 High Yield at 550 pages and LC3019 Super High Yield at 3,000 black / 1,500 color pages. The Clever Supplies compatible cartridges below are chipped and ready to install, with a lifetime warranty. This is a standard-cassette printer — it does NOT take LC3029 Tank cartridges.

MFC-J5330DW Ink — Two Tiers, One Standard-Cassette Slot
Brother lists the MFC-J5330DW for both LC3017 and LC3019, and the lists are identical — that is the standard-cassette platform. A High cartridge (LC3017BK, LC3017C, LC3017M, LC3017Y — 550 pages each) and a Super High cartridge (LC3019BK, LC3019C, LC3019M, LC3019Y — 3,000 black / 1,500 color pages) in the same color differ only in fill, and the two tiers can be mixed color by color (all yields ISO/IEC 24711).
The MFC-J5330DW is a Business Smart Pro all-in-one, and the line that must not be crossed is the platform line: this printer does not take LC3029, the INKvestment Tank cartridge, however similar the yield numbers look. LC3019 is not a Tank cartridge either — it is the Super High rung of this printer’s own platform. Light, occasional printing suits the High rung; a busy office belongs on Super High, which cuts cartridge changes sharply.

Chip, ink and everyday use
Every cartridge on this page carries a new compatible chip. One honest expectation: with a compatible cartridge the printer may show “Cannot Detect Ink Volume” — Brother’s support text says the machine keeps working with that message. Keep spare cartridges sealed until install day. All cartridges on this page carry a lifetime warranty with 1-year free returns. The two tiers share one slot design, so a spare from either tier is a valid spare for this printer; the only wrong cartridge here is the Tank one. Either rung can be installed one color at a time, so the step up never has to happen all at once.
