Frequently Asked Questions

All four cartridges are flashing low at once — is a complete reset the sensible buy?

Usually, yes. When a workgroup machine has run a full set down together, piecemeal replacement just schedules the next three interruptions. This box swaps the whole row in one session: a TN433BK for the black slot and TN433C, TN433M and TN433Y for the colour slots, every one of them the genuine high-yield cartridge for this platform. Ten minutes with the front cover open and the printer is back to a full, even set with matched ages across all four positions.

How should I read the yields in this set — do they add up to one big number?

They do not, and any listing that sums them is misleading you. The honest way to read the box is by class: the black is rated at 4,500 pages, and each of the three colours is rated at 4,000 pages. Black and colour toner are consumed at completely different rates — a month of invoices barely touches the colours, while a month of brochures does the opposite — so the four ratings run on four separate clocks. What the set guarantees is that every clock starts full, at the platform's highest capacity class, on the same day.

What does this set save against buying the four cartridges separately?

Bought one at a time on this site, the row costs $612.63 — $113.16 for the TN433BK and $166.49 for each of the three colours. The set is $542.49, a saving of $70.14, and it sits $271.25 under its own $813.74 list price. One honest footnote: the saving assumes you genuinely need all four. If your black was replaced last month, the three-colour set on its own is the tighter buy, and we would rather sell you that.

We print in bursts — will a full set store safely between jobs?

Sealed genuine cartridges are patient stock. Keep the boxes unopened, flat, and away from heat and direct sun, and a set bought for a known busy quarter — enrolment, tax season, a catalogue run — will sit ready without any special care. The practical habit is to install from a full set rather than hoard single colours: matched installation dates make the printer's own toner gauges far easier to plan around.

Which printers take this four-cartridge set?

The same ten models that run the whole TN431/TN433 family: HL-L8260CDW, HL-L8360CDW and HL-L8360CDWT, the HL-L9310CDW, HL-L9310CDWT and HL-L9310CDWTT, and the all-in-ones MFC-L8610CDW, MFC-L8900CDW, MFC-L9570CDW and MFC-L9570CDWT. If the cartridges coming out of your machine read TN431, this set still fits every slot — it simply refills each one at the higher TN433 capacity.

What cover do I get if something in the set is wrong?

Every cartridge in the box is genuine Brother stock covered by Brother's manufacturer warranty, and the set itself can be returned within 30 days of delivery in all cases — the detail is on our shipping and returns page. Orders dispatch from whichever of our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses is nearest to you, and support is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
