Frequently Asked Questions

The display says "replace toner" but my pages still look fine. Is the printer wrong?

The printer is early, not wrong. The replace-toner message on this platform is triggered with a deliberate reserve left in the cartridge, so the machine can keep working while a replacement is on its way. Carry on printing; the pages themselves are the true gauge. When output turns pale — first unevenly, which a gentle side-to-side rocking of the cartridge often cures, then uniformly — it is time. This cartridge, the high-yield 106R01535 rated at 30,000 pages, is the one your Phaser 4620N is asking for.

What number should I match when reordering for the 4620N?

106R01535. It is the high-yield black cartridge shared by the Phaser 4600 and 4620 platform, and it also travels under the shorthand name 4600H. This page is the listing named for the 4620N, but the number on your current cartridge is the confirmation that settles it.

Does the cartridge fit the other Phaser models as well?

Yes — the Phaser 4600, Phaser 4620 and Phaser 4622DN families and their letter-suffixed variants all run on it. A spare bought for the 4620N is valid stock for any of them.

How long should the new cartridge last?

At 700 pages a month, more than three and a half years. At 1,600 pages a month, about 18 to 19 months. At 3,200 pages a month, roughly nine months. The rating behind those figures is 30,000 pages at 5% coverage, so documents heavier than plain text will pull the real figure down somewhat.

What does this work out to per page?

Around 0.49 cents — $146.12 across 30,000 rated pages. It is the plainest comparison in toner buying, and the reason a high-yield cartridge makes sense in a machine like the 4620N: the per-page cost is a fraction of a cent while the replacement interval stretches past a year in most offices.

What protection comes with a compatible cartridge?

A 1-year warranty against defects and 1-year free returns if it does not perform — the cover we attach to every cartridge in the store. The complete terms are on the shipping and returns page, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
