Frequently Asked Questions

Straight question: is $146.12 reasonable for one cartridge?

Judge it per page, not per box. This is the high-yield cartridge for the Phaser 4620 — part number 106R01535 — rated at 30,000 pages, so $146.12 works out to about 0.49 cents a page. That said, a single is the priciest way to buy it: the same cartridge falls to about $131.33 a unit in the five-pack. Buy the single when you need one cartridge and no more; buy the ladder when your volume is steady. Both statements can be true at once, and which applies is about your print volume, not the cartridge.

How long does 30,000 pages last in a Phaser 4620?

At 1,200 pages a month, about 25 months. At 2,500 pages a month, roughly a year. At 5,000 pages a month, around six months. The rating assumes 5% page coverage — normal text density — so an office printing heavy forms or image-rich pages will land a bit under these spans, while plain correspondence can run slightly past them.

Which other printers take this same cartridge?

The rest of the platform: the Phaser 4600 family, this Phaser 4620 family and the Phaser 4622DN, including letter-suffixed variants. The 106R01535 — also going by the name 4600H — is the one cartridge design the platform shares, which keeps office stocking simple.

What does "compatible" mean for a cartridge like this?

It means the cartridge is made by a third-party manufacturer to fit and work in the printers the original was made for, rather than being a Xerox-branded unit. It is a new cartridge, not a refilled original. What we stand behind is the specification — the 30,000-page rating, the fit for the 4620 platform — and the coverage: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns if it does not perform.

One side of my pages is printing lighter than the other. Why?

Almost certainly settled toner inside a cartridge approaching empty. Take it out, hold it level, and rock it gently side to side five or six times; reinstall and print a test page. Even coverage means you have redistributed the remaining toner and bought more pages. A page that stays uniformly pale after rocking is a cartridge at the end of its life.

What happens if I install it and the print quality is poor?

You are covered twice: our 1-year warranty handles defects, and our 1-year free returns handle a cartridge that simply does not perform as it should. The details are on the shipping and returns page, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you would rather talk first.
