Frequently Asked Questions
What makes this 108R00795 different from the standard cartridge?
The toner itself. This is the MICR version of the 108R00795: its toner is formulated with magnetic particles so that the account and routing line on a printed check can be read by bank sorting equipment. It fits the same machines and carries the same 10,000-page high-yield rating — the difference is entirely in what the printed output can do.
Do I need MICR toner for ordinary office printing?
No. Letters, invoices and reports print perfectly well with the regular cartridge, and nothing about a normal document uses the magnetic property. MICR only earns its place when checks come off the printer — payroll, accounts payable, or refund checks. If that is not your workload, the standard 108R00795 cartridge is the same supply without the check-printing formula.
Is check printing with this cartridge accepted by banks?
MICR toner is the correct supply type for printing the magnetic line on checks — that is precisely what it is made for. Readability in practice also depends on the printer being in good order and on using proper check stock, so run a small test batch and inspect the output before a full check run, as with any check-printing setup.
Which printers does the MICR cartridge fit?
The same Phaser platform as the standard supply: the Phaser 3635MFP and the Phaser 3635MFP/S. If your machine takes a regular 108R00795, this MICR version loads the same way.
Does MICR cost more per page here?
On this listing, no: it is $97.91, the same shelf price as the standard single cartridge, and the same 10,000-page rating puts it at roughly 0.98 cents per page. Check-printing offices are not paying a formula premium on this one.
What warranty and returns cover apply?
The same as every cartridge we sell: a 1-year warranty and free returns for a year, detailed on our shipping and returns page. The support desk is open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
