Frequently Asked Questions

How does the pack price break down month by month for our SCX-4835?

Spread across the work it does, very gently. The box is $121.13 for five MLT-D205L cartridges — 25,000 rated pages — so a machine printing 2,500 pages a month carries roughly ten months of toner for a little over twelve dollars a month, with no toner order in between. Compare the single-cartridge rhythm at $39.02 a time, five separate orders, and the pack's appeal is as much the quiet as the saving.

And what is the saving, in plain figures?

Five single cartridges would cost $195.10; the box costs $121.13, so $73.97 stays in the budget. Each cartridge effectively costs $24.23 instead of $39.02, and the SCX-4835's toner cost per page — prints and copies together — falls from about 0.78 cents to around 0.48 cents for as long as the box lasts.

Can one pack serve two different machines in our office?

Yes, provided both are on this platform — and many are. The MLT-D205L fits the ML-3310, ML-3310ND and ML-3312D printers, the ML-3710, ML-3712 and ML-3712ND, and the SCX-4833, SCX-4833FR, SCX-4835HD, SCX-5639FR and SCX-5737 multifunctions as well as the SCX-4835. Held as shared stock, the pack simply flows to whichever machine empties next.

How should the pack be stored between changeovers?

Sealed, flat, cool and dry, and drawn from in arrival order. On a working multifunction the five cartridges turn over steadily enough that storage hardly matters, but those habits guarantee the fifth cartridge prints as cleanly as the first. Keep the box somewhere findable by whoever changes the toner.

What if a cartridge out of this pack develops a fault?

That cartridge is covered on its own — one-year warranty, free returns for a year — so it goes back at no charge while the rest of the pack carries on. Swapping the next unit in is the practical first step, since it separates a cartridge fault from a machine fault in about a minute. The shipping and returns page explains the returns process itself.

Does buying toner in this size change the drum's schedule?

No. The MLT-R205 drum unit is a separate consumable on a much longer cycle, it is not in this box, and it is listed separately in our Samsung toner range. This purchase is toner only; we dispatch it from our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
