Frequently Asked Questions

How much cheaper is each page when the SCX-4826 is fed from this pack?

Noticeably. Bought singly, the MLT-D209L puts toner at about 0.75 cents a page; in this five-pack each cartridge costs $22.79 instead of $37.58, which brings the figure down to roughly 0.46 cents a page. That rate covers everything the SCX-4826 outputs — prints, copies and received faxes all share the one cartridge.

What does the pack cost, and what does it save?

The five cartridges together are $113.94. Five bought one at a time would total $187.90, so the pack saves $73.96 — most of the price of two extra cartridges — while putting 25,000 rated pages of supply in the cupboard in a single order.

How long will five cartridges keep an SCX-4826 supplied?

At a combined output of 1,000 pages a month across printing, copying and incoming faxes, the pack covers about two years; at 2,500 pages a month, close to ten months. Your machine's first cartridge gives the calibration: however long one lasted, five last roughly five times as long, minus nothing for storage — sealed toner keeps.

Which machines do the cartridges in this box fit?

Every unit is an MLT-D209L, listed for the SCX-4826 in this listing and also for the ML-2855, ML-2855ND, SCX-4824FN and SCX-4826FN. One pack can therefore back up several different machines on the same site — check the code on the cartridge coming out if you are fitting one somewhere new.

How should spares from the pack be kept until they are needed?

Sealed in their boxes, stored flat somewhere cool and dry, away from sunlight and heat sources, and used oldest first. Toner powder does not spoil in a closed cartridge over any normal storage period, so the last cartridge out of the box prints with the same density as the first.

How are the five cartridges covered?

Individually and identically: each carries a one-year warranty, and returns are free for twelve months if a unit streaks, leaks or fails early. The full wording sits on our shipping and returns page. We dispatch from IL, PA, GA and CA, and the support team answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
