Frequently Asked Questions

Five cartridges on the shelf for one ML-3712DW — how should we store and rotate them?

Keep the four spares sealed in their bags, lying flat in a cool, dry cupboard away from radiators and direct sun, and always fit the oldest one first. Each MLT-D205L is rated at 5,000 pages, so the box holds roughly 25,000 pages of stock; worked through in purchase order, no cartridge sits long enough for its age to matter, and toner itself keeps well while it stays sealed.

Can this one pack also feed the other Samsung printers in our office?

Yes. Every cartridge in the box is a standard MLT-D205L, the shared cartridge for a broad workgroup family — the ML-3310, ML-3310D and ML-3310ND, the ML-3312 and ML-3312ND, the ML-3710 and ML-3712 lines, and the SCX-4833, SCX-4835, SCX-5639FR and SCX-5737 multifunction models. Any of those machines can draw from the same shelf stock, which is what makes a five-pack practical for a mixed office.

What does the pack do to the price of each cartridge?

The box costs $121.13, which works out at $24.23 per cartridge against $39.02 for the same MLT-D205L bought singly — a saving of $73.97 across the five. In page terms the toner cost falls from about 0.78 cents a page to roughly 0.48 cents, and that lower figure applies to every one of the pack's 25,000 pages.

A cartridge from the middle of the pack has started printing streaky pages — what then?

Take that one cartridge out and set it aside; the rest of the pack is unaffected and the next sealed unit can go straight in. Cover on these cartridges runs per unit rather than per order, so the faulty one can be returned free within its year while the remaining cartridges keep working. Fitting a fresh cartridge also tells you quickly whether the streaks followed the old unit or stayed with the printer.

Does stocking toner five at a time change anything about the drum?

No. The MLT-R205 drum unit this platform uses is a separate part on a far longer replacement cycle than toner, and it is not in this box. As a rough guide to symptoms: pages that fade evenly all over usually mean the toner is running out, while a mark that repeats at the same spot down every page points to the drum rather than to any cartridge in this pack.

What cover comes with the cartridges in this box?

Each of the five carries a one-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year on every cartridge — if one leaks, streaks or fails early, that unit comes back to us at no cost. The process is laid out on the shipping and returns page, and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you would rather talk it through first.
