Frequently Asked Questions

How does ordering change once an ML-1864 is fed from a five-pack?

It mostly stops. Instead of a small order every few months, one box of five MLT-D104S cartridges — 7,500 pages — sits in reserve and the reorder only happens when the fifth cartridge goes in. For most ML-1864 workloads that turns toner from a recurring chore into something you think about once a year or less.

What does the pack do to the price of each cartridge?

It brings it from $39.58 down to $24.79: the box is $123.96 where five singles total $197.90, a saving of $73.94. Per printed page, toner falls from around 2.64 cents to about 1.65 cents across the pack's life.

Who genuinely gets through 7,500 pages on a printer this size?

More households than you would expect: a home business printing orders and invoices daily, a student household putting coursework through every term, or a desk shared by two or three people. At 400 pages a month the pack lasts well over eighteen months; at half that it covers around three years of printing.

How should we work through the box so nothing is wasted?

Use the cartridges in sequence and keep the rest sealed. Fit one, run it to the end, then open the next. Storing the unopened cartridges flat in a cool, dry place — not on a sunny shelf or next to a heater — keeps every fill at full strength until its turn.

Do the cartridges in this pack fit our other Samsung machines?

Any model in the MLT-D104S family: ML-1660, ML-1665, ML-1666, ML-1670, ML-1676, the ML-1860, ML-1861, ML-1865, ML-1865W and ML-1866, plus the SCX-3200, SCX-3200K and SCX-3201 multifunctions. One box can quietly serve several of those at once. See the Samsung cartridges page for the full list.

What cover applies to cartridges bought as a pack?

The same as singles: a one-year warranty on each cartridge and free returns for a year, applied unit by unit — one faulty cartridge is returned alone, without sending back the rest. The process is laid out on the shipping and returns page. Delivery comes from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
