What does a year of toner look like for an MB280 MFP on this 5-pack?
For many offices, one box is the year. The pack holds five 56123402 cartridges at up to 5,500 pages each — 27,500 pages across prints and copies. At 500 pages a week that is just over twelve months of output from a single $146.07 order; at 250 pages a week, closer to two years.
How does the annual cost compare with buying singles through the year?
Five singles bought as you go cost $44.01 each, totalling $220.05. This pack is $146.07 — $73.98 less over the same five cartridges, at $29.21 per cartridge and roughly 0.53 cents per page instead of about 0.8 cents. Same cartridges, same 5,500-page rating each; the difference is purely buying ahead.
Do copies count against the pack the same way prints do?
Yes. On the MB280 MFP, copies and prints share the one cartridge, so budget your year on combined output. Scanning uses no toner and does not touch the total.
Can the pack also supply an MB260 MFP?
It can — the 56123402 fits both the MB280 MFP and the MB260 MFP. Offices running both can treat this as a shared annual stock box, drawing cartridges for whichever machine calls first.
What if our usage drops and cartridges sit unused?
Keep them sealed, flat and out of sunlight at room temperature and they store well. Each cartridge carries a one-year warranty and free returns for a full year — see our shipping and returns page — and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if anything concerns you.
Is this an original Oki product?
No, it is a compatible pack built to the 56123402 specification and sold under the Clever Supplies brand, shipped from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA. Single cartridges and the rest of the family are listed on our Okidata range page.
