Frequently Asked Questions

Which cartridge in this C5850N set will I end up replacing first?

It depends on what your C5850N prints. The black cartridge carries the largest rating, up to 8,000 pages, while each color — cyan, magenta and yellow — is rated at up to 6,000 pages. A text-heavy workload leans on the black; a graphics-heavy one drains a color first. Either way, this box refreshes all four positions so no single shortage catches you mid-job.

What is in the set, number by number?

Four cartridges corresponding collectively to the part numbers 43865717, 43865718, 43865719 and 43865720: one black, one cyan, one magenta and one yellow. They are stated as a family because the same four numbers serve several printers — checking them against the cartridges in your C5850N is the definitive pre-order check.

What does $145.50 work out to for each cartridge?

Divided across the four cartridges, the set averages about $36.38 per cartridge. That is the practical figure to budget with for the C5850N: one $145.50 order, four positions covered, no separate orders to track.

Which relatives of the C5850N does this set also serve?

The 43865717 / 43865718 / 43865719 / 43865720 family is listed for the C5850 and C5850DN alongside your C5850N, and for the C6150, C6150DN, C6150DTN, C6150HDN and C6150N. If your office keeps more than one of those models, a single spare set can stand in for any of them.

Can I install the cartridges one at a time?

Yes — each cartridge is sealed on its own, so there is no reason to open all four on day one. Install each color as its position in the C5850N runs out and keep the rest sealed on the shelf; the set works as your restock reserve, not as a single-use bundle.

What if a cartridge prints poorly straight out of the box?

Then the cover applies: these Clever Supplies compatible cartridges carry a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, detailed on our shipping and returns page. Support answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from the closest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses.
