Frequently Asked Questions
What is the true per-page cost of running our B420DN on this pack?
Work it through: $64.58 buys five 43979101 cartridges at about $12.92 each. At 3,500 rated pages per cartridge, the pack delivers 17,500 pages, putting toner at roughly 0.37 cents per page. The same cartridge bought singly at $27.70 costs about 0.79 cents per page — so on a networked machine printing 20,000 pages a year, the pack pricing saves on the order of $84 a year in toner alone.
How does the headline saving break down?
Five singles at $27.70 come to $138.50. This pack is $64.58. The difference, $73.92, is about 53% off the per-cartridge price — the largest discount in this cartridge's range, earned purely by committing to five at once.
Our B420DN is shared — how fast will five cartridges go?
Shared printers surprise people: three or four staff printing steadily can pass 2,000 pages a month, which empties the pack in about nine months. At a calmer 1,000 a month, expect roughly seventeen months. Track pages for one month and you will know which camp you are in.
Is there any difference between the pack cartridges and the single?
None. Each box holds the same full 43979101 cartridge with the same 3,500-page rating that we sell individually. The pack is a pricing and stocking decision, not a different product.
Why is the pack listed under the B420DN name here?
Because that is the machine you searched for — but the cartridge inside is the standard 43979101, the black cartridge the B420DN uses. The part number on the cartridge you remove will confirm it.
What if a cartridge fails six months into the pack?
Every cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — terms on our shipping and returns page. These are Clever Supplies compatibles, not Oki originals, and our support team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, to replace or refund a faulty unit.
