Frequently Asked Questions

What do I get in this 3 pack?

Three individually sealed Q7551A black cartridges, each rated at 6,500 pages. They are three separate units, not one oversized cartridge: fit one now and keep the other two packaged until the printer asks for them.

Why buy three at once instead of ordering singles as we go?

It matches the rhythm of a working quarter. A department printer that uses a cartridge every few weeks never sits idle waiting on a delivery, and nobody raises a purchase order each time. One order covers the season; the shelf absorbs the timing.

Can the three cartridges be split across different printers?

Yes. Every unit is the same Q7551A supply, so one can go to the accounts printer and another to the machine by the front desk, as long as each belongs to the LaserJet P3005 series that uses the 51A. The cartridges are fully independent — where each ends up is up to you.

How should the spares be stored so they print properly months later?

Leave them sealed, flat, in a cool dry cupboard away from radiators and sun. Toner is dry powder, so a sealed cartridge does not dry out or set solid; a gentle rock before fitting levels the powder again. Stored this way, the third cartridge prints like the first.

The printer says toner is low but pages still look fine. Should I swap straight away?

Not necessarily. The low warning is an early estimate, and solid black text often continues well after it appears. Keep printing until you see genuine, even fading; rocking the cartridge stretches that final stage further. With spares in the building, there is no risk in letting the old cartridge finish properly.

What cover comes with the pack, and where does it ship from?

All three cartridges carry a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, detailed on our shipping and returns page, and the full pack is $98.79. Stock is dispatched from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and support runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This HP 51A Black 3 Pack

Three compatible Q7551A cartridges at $98.79, each rated at 6,500 pages, bought the way a steady office uses them: one in the LaserJet P3005, two in reserve. It is for the administrator who would rather hold a quarter's toner on a shelf than place the same small order three times — and for the team whose printer cannot stand idle awaiting a delivery. It sits within our HP toner collection at Clever Supplies.

The 51A (Q7551A) fits LaserJet P3005d, LaserJet P3005dn, LaserJet P3005n, LaserJet P3005x and LaserJet P3005 — the whole platform shares the one cartridge. Also stocked for these printers: the 51A (Q7551A) single cartridge and the high-yield 51X (Q7551X) single cartridge.
