Frequently Asked Questions
Why would we stock four cartridges at once for a single B5460?
Because a department printer earns its keep by never standing idle, and toner is the one consumable that can stop it without warning. This pack holds four 331-9797 cartridges, each rated at 6,000 pages — 24,000 pages of cover in the cupboard. One goes in the machine, three wait their turn, and a faded cartridge becomes a two-minute swap instead of a stalled workgroup.
What do we actually save against buying them one at a time?
Four singles would cost $427.72 at $106.93 apiece. This pack is $372.24, so you keep $55.48, and the per-cartridge price drops to $93.06. It is a real saving, presented at its real size — roughly the cost of half a cartridge returned to the budget.
How long is 24,000 pages likely to last our group?
At a steady 2,000 pages a month, about a year. At 1,000 a month it stretches towards two years; at 4,000 a month, expect roughly six months. Those translations rest on the standard coverage the ratings are measured at, so a group printing dense reports will land a little short of them.
How should three spare cartridges be stored?
Sealed, flat, and somewhere cool and dry — a stationery cupboard is ideal, a spot above a radiator is not. Keep them in their packaging until the day each one is needed and they will hold their condition across the months the pack takes to work through.
Are these cartridges made by Dell?
No — they are compatibles, built by a third-party manufacturer to the same specification as Dell's 331-9797 cartridge for the B5460. What you can hold them to is printed here: 6,000 pages apiece, $372.24 the pack, and a year of warranty cover.
If one of the four disappoints, what then?
Each cartridge in the pack carries the same 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, and our support team is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. The full terms are published on our shipping & returns page.
