Frequently Asked Questions
How do we stop the 1235cn from running dry in the middle of a job?
Plan against the ratings instead of reacting to the warning light. In this family the black 330-3012 is rated at 1,500 pages and the cyan 330-3015, magenta 330-3014 and yellow 330-3013 at 1,000 pages each — small numbers that a networked printer can consume quickly. The habit that works is to track roughly how many pages your 1235cn has printed since the last change, keep the next full set on the shelf before you need it, and treat the low-toner message as the signal to reorder, not to start thinking about it.
What will we find in the box?
Four compatible cartridges, one per slot: 330-3012 black, 330-3015 cyan, 330-3014 magenta and 330-3013 yellow. The complete set is $103.22 — about $25.81 a cartridge — and because it contains all four part numbers, a single order covers whichever slot gives out first and refreshes the rest alongside it.
Which cartridge is likely to empty first on a networked machine?
It depends on what the network sends it. Text-heavy traffic leans on the black, which has the deepest rating at 1,500 pages, so it often survives longest despite doing the most work. Color traffic drains all three 1,000-page colors together, and whichever color your documents favor — cyan in charts, magenta in marketing pieces — fades first. On a mixed shared workload the colors usually call time before the black does.
Do the ratings hold up for real office documents?
They hold up as an average. Ratings are standardized at 5% coverage, so a month of short emails and letters tracks them well, while a week of full-color presentations spends the color cartridges far faster per page. Nobody's real month is exactly 5% coverage, which is why the sensible reorder trigger is a page count against the ratings, adjusted by how rich your typical documents are — not the calendar.
Why stock a whole set instead of just the cartridge that is low?
Because on this family the others are rarely far behind. The four cartridges share a workload and their ratings differ by only 500 pages, so a machine that has finished one cartridge has usually spent most of the others too. Keeping the complete set — all of 330-3012, 330-3015, 330-3014 and 330-3013 — on the shelf means any slot can be answered the day it fades, and output quality stays consistent instead of depending on one new cartridge among three tired ones.
What backs the set if we are buying ahead?
Buying ahead is safe here: sealed toner keeps well, every cartridge carries a 1-year warranty, and returns are free for a year if one fails to perform — terms are on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from our warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
