Frequently Asked Questions

What black cartridge does the fax-equipped M577F take?

The CF360X — the black cartridge of HP's 508X family, sold here as a single at $54.43. The F in the machine's name adds fax hardware; it does not change the supply list. Match the stamp on the cartridge you remove and the order is right.

Why does the fax side of this machine eat black toner?

Because every incoming fax is a black print. Contracts, orders and signed forms arriving by fax all come out of the CF360X, page after page, whether or not anyone prints a document that day. On a fax-busy M577F, the black cartridge's life is set by the fax line as much as by the print queue.

How many pages will one cartridge cover here?

Up to 12,500 at standard coverage — but count faxes and copies alongside prints when you estimate. A machine receiving long fax documents daily can spend its black noticeably faster than its printed page count suggests. The rating is the budget; your fax volume decides how quickly you spend it.

Incoming faxes have gone faint. Cartridge, or the phone line?

Print an ordinary document from a computer. If that page is faint too, the CF360X is nearly empty — the line is fine and the cartridge is spent. If documents print bold while only faxes look weak, then the fax side deserves the attention. The test takes one page and settles the question.

Should a spare live next to a fax machine specifically?

Yes. Faxes do not schedule themselves, and an empty black slot means incoming pages queue up or fail at the worst times. One sealed CF360X beside the M577F — the same cartridge the wider 508X platform uses, from the Color LaserJet M533X on down — turns a fax outage into a thirty-second cartridge swap.

What backs this cartridge after purchase?

A 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns. Orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and our support team answers Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST. The full terms are on our shipping and returns page.

About This CF360X Black Cartridge for the Color LaserJet M577F

On the M577F, black toner is not just print supply — it is the fax line's paper trail. This compatible CF360X covers that duty with a 12,500-page rating at $54.43, from the HP 508X family. Keep it stocked and the machine prints, copies and receives without interruption; let it run dry and the faxes are the first thing the office misses.
