Frequently Asked Questions

I run a LaserJet Pro M203 hard every day. Which cartridge keeps up?

This one — the CF230X, the 3,500-page black cartridge sold under the 30X family name. It is made for the same HP M203 line, including the LaserJet M203d, but filled for desks whose monthly volume turns cartridge swaps into a weekly nuisance. The code on your current cartridge tells you what is installed now; fitting this CF230X is the same slide-in job regardless.

How many months should 3,500 pages cover on a single M203?

Divide by your real monthly count. At 350 pages a month, expect roughly ten months; at 700, about five. The rating assumes ordinary text coverage — dense forms, heavy letterheads and full-page tables spend toner faster, while memos and emails track the rating closely. The M203's own supplies page keeps the running impression count, which turns the estimate from a guess into a schedule you can order against.

Does the printer need any adjustment when a high-yield cartridge goes in?

None. The M203 reads the cartridge it is given and reports levels accordingly; there is no setting to change and no menu to visit. Remove the seal, rock the cartridge gently to settle the toner, slide it in until it seats, and close the cover. The machine returns to ready on its own, and the larger capacity simply shows up as a level that falls far more slowly.

What are the early signs that even this cartridge is finally running down?

The classic sequence: overall greyness first, then a pale band that repeats down the page, usually at one edge. Rocking the cartridge buys back a run of clean pages by levelling the remaining powder — a useful bridge while the next cartridge ships, not a cure. When the band returns within a few dozen pages of a rock, the reserve is genuinely spent.

What does it cost, and where does it ship from?

The CF230X for the M203 is $29.82 from Clever Supplies. Orders leave from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses, routed by your delivery address, and the shipping and returns page covers the delivery and returns detail in full.

What if the cartridge fails well before its rating?

It is protected by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. A unit that leaks, streaks from the start or dies young goes back for a replacement or refund — keep the box until the first hundred pages prove clean, and call support Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST so the fault can be logged against the cartridge.
