Frequently Asked Questions

What is this 10 pack, in one sentence?

Ten CF226A MICR black cartridges — the 26A cartridge HP specifies for the LaserJet Pro M402 series, the LaserJet M402d included, and the LaserJet Pro M426 multifunction models — with magnetic MICR toner for check printing, at $158.32 for the ten.

Who buys MICR cartridges ten at a time?

Accounts payable departments and multi-branch businesses that print checks steadily all year. At that volume, ordering in tens keeps purchasing to a few planned orders instead of a stream of urgent singles, and every check printer in the building draws from the same known stock.

How long can sealed cartridges wait in a stockroom?

A sealed cartridge keeps well in ordinary indoor conditions — flat, dry, out of direct sunlight and away from radiators or steamy rooms. Mark each box with its arrival date when the shipment lands, and issue the oldest boxes first so the stock turns over steadily rather than aging in place.

How much printing does one cartridge from the ten cover?

Each cartridge is rated at up to 3,100 pages at the standard 5% coverage figure. Check pages use a fraction of that coverage, so a cartridge assigned to a check printer typically lasts through many months of payment runs.

Does bulk stock change the advice about bank testing?

No. Before the first cartridge from any new batch goes into full service, print sample checks and have your bank run them through its reader — no cartridge maker can guarantee a bank's acceptance, since the stock, the printer and the bank's equipment all play a part. A proven batch then works through the stockroom without retesting every box.

What warranty, returns and shipping terms come with the pack?

Each cartridge is backed by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. Orders leave from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California; the shipping and returns page carries the full terms, and support is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This CF226A MICR 10 Pack

Central stock works when the item on the shelf is unambiguous, and this one is: ten CF226A (26A) MICR cartridges, one code, one job — check printing — for $158.32, each cartridge rated at up to 3,100 pages.

Receive the shipment, date the boxes, prove a sample at the bank, then issue oldest-first as printers call for toner. The check runs keep their rhythm, and purchasing stays a calendar event instead of an emergency.

It fits the LaserJet M402d, LaserJet M402dn, LaserJet M402dw and LaserJet MFP M426fdn. For longer check runs there is the high-yield route in the same MICR line: the 26X MICR ten-pack (CF226X). The 26A MICR cartridge for the M402 series (CF226A) covers the model-named listings.
