Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the blue stamps and logos on my copies fading when the originals look bold?

A WorkCentre 6515 builds every colour copy from the same four toner cartridges it prints with, and blue ink stamps, letterhead logos and highlighted passages are reproduced almost entirely from cyan. When the 106R03477 starts to run dry, those elements are the first casualties: a vivid blue "PAID" stamp comes out as a grey ghost, and pie charts lose the slice you most needed to read. Black body text on the same copy stays dark, which is why the fault is easy to misread as a scanner problem — it is the cyan supply, not the glass.

How long should one cartridge last in a copy-heavy office?

The 106R03477 is rated at 2,400 pages at 5% coverage, which at $24.96 is roughly a cent per colour page. On a WorkCentre 6515 that handles the front desk's copying — contracts with colour logos, ID copies, delivery notes — expect that rating to translate into a few months of ordinary use. Copying is harder on toner than printing the same page, because scanned originals often carry background tint the copier faithfully reproduces, so offices that copy forms all day will land below the headline figure while mixed print-and-copy use lands closer to it.

Where does the cyan cartridge go on the WorkCentre 6515, and how long does the swap take?

Under a minute, once you know the layout. Open the front door of the 6515 and you will see the four cartridges stacked by colour; the cyan unit is the one marked with a blue label and the 106R03477 code. Pull it out by its grip, rock the replacement gently from side to side to level the toner, remove its seal, and push it home until it clicks. Close the door and let the machine finish its brief warm-up — the first copy afterwards should already show the missing blues restored.

The panel says "Replace Toner" — how do I make sure I order the right colour?

Read the message to the end before you order anything: the 6515 names the empty colour on its display, and the empty cartridge itself carries its code on the label. This listing is the cyan unit, 106R03477. Ordering by the machine name alone is how offices end up with a second magenta and no cyan, because all four cartridges for this platform share the same shape and similar packaging. Ten seconds checking the code on the spent unit guarantees the box that arrives is the one the printer is actually asking for.

Can a spare cartridge sit in the store cupboard, or does toner go off?

A sealed cartridge keeps well for a long time, which makes a shelf spare a sensible move for a machine the whole office depends on. Store the 106R03477 flat, in its bag, away from radiators and sunlit windows, and it will be ready the day the fitted unit fades. Because the WorkCentre 6515 shares this cartridge with the Phaser 6510 as well as the WorkCentre 6515 itself, one spare can stand guard over both machines in a mixed fleet.

What protection and delivery do I get with this cartridge?

The cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so if a unit underperforms you are not left carrying the cost. Stock is dispatched from the nearest of our warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA, and the complete delivery and returns terms are published on our shipping & returns page. Questions are answered by a real support team Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
