Frequently Asked Questions

In colour-critical work, what betrays a fading yellow first?

The warm colours. Oranges thin out, golds go pale and brassy, and a client's warm brand colour drifts visibly while text and line work still look perfect. Yellow contributes the warmth in nearly every warm tone the machine prints, so on a graphics configuration its decline shows up in the work that matters most, earliest.

How do I check the yellow before committing to a proof run?

Print a solid yellow test patch from the machine's diagnostics. A healthy cartridge lays down an even, saturated field; a tired one produces a washed, uneven patch that no calibration pass will rescue. Thirty seconds of testing beats discovering the fade on a client proof.

The title says "Cartridges." Should I expect more than one?

Expect one. The plural is inherited catalog phrasing — this listing is a single 106R01162 yellow cartridge, rated at up to 25,000 pages, priced at $134.58. What you are buying is capacity, not count.

Is the YGX yellow some special graphics-edition cartridge?

No — and that is good news. The graphics badge describes the machine's configuration, not a separate supply line. The YGX takes the same family yellow as the base Phaser 7760, so its toner is the standard, widely stocked 106R01162 rather than an exotic variant.

Why won't proofing work ever see the full 25,000 pages?

The rating is struck at 5 percent coverage, and proof pages — solids, images, full-bleed colour — cover a large multiple of that. Treat the rating as the yardstick for comparing cartridges, then expect the real page count to fall in proportion to how hard your pages lean on the yellow.

What protection comes with the cartridge?

A one-year warranty and free returns for a full year. If a fresh cartridge's output is off, you are not left arguing about it, and support answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
